INTRODUCTION OF ATROPINE SULPHATE EYE OINTMENT

Atropine Sulphate 1% Eye Ointment is used to treat inflammation in the eyes (uveitis or iritis) and for the eye examination or check up. It is also used to diagnose eye problems like blurred vision or squint in children.

Atropine Sulphate 1% Eye Ointment is for external use only. You should avoid contact lenses after using this medicine. Your doctor may advise regular eye checkups before and during the treatment.

This medicine may cause blurred vision, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Side effects like increased sensitivity to light is very common. Thus, it is important to protect your eyes from bright light, particularly when pupils are widened. It may also cause dry mouth or bradycardia (decreased heart rate) in some cases.
