Lacosam 50 Tablet is used alone or in combination with other similar medicines and is particularly used in the treatment of partial onset seizure. It is taken by mouth on an empty stomach or along with food. Take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain consistent level of medicine in the body. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember as it can be life threatening in some cases, so it is better to keep an extra stalk always to avoid a missdose. You should finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better and always consult doctor before stopping this medicine as it may increase the seizure frequency. If you have a heart problem that affects heartbeat, it is important to consult doctor before taking this medicine. Side effects are few and uncommon with this medicine. However, it may sometimes cause dizziness, headache, diplopia (double vision), blurred vision, and nausea in few patients. Most of these side effects are self-limiting and they usually improve with time. Keep a watch on your weight, as using of this medicine can cause weight gain. Eat healthy and exercise regularly to manage it.
